Informed Delivery is the latest innovation from the USPS that allows you to digitally preview your mail and manage your packages scheduled to arrive soon! Informed Delivery allows you to view grayscale images of the exterior, address side of letter-size mailpieces.
Download the USPS Informed Delivery App to view incoming mail and receive notifications to track incoming packages anytime, anywhere on your smartphone or tablet. Currently, over 10 million homes are signed up to receive these notifications and an estimated 150,000 new users sign up every week.
Here’s what Informed Delivery has to offer:
Increase Response Rates and Visibility with Informed Delivery Reporting
As an additional feature for direct mail advertisers, mailers can choose to replace the black and white image with a full color image and/or include a ride-along image with a link to a specific offer or website. The Post Office can also provide detailed reporting on the number of users who received the email, if they opened the email, and when or if they clicked on the link to the website. By using this feature, mailers can easily add another touch point for their direct mail campaign to increase response rate and visibility.
10 Million homes are already taking advantage of USPS Informed Delivery.
The USPS is continuing to evolve Informed Delivery and recently included the ability to add personalized URLs and/or variable images. In addition, the USPS is actively developing a user option to receive direct mail based on your interests. For example, if you would like to receive advertisements for restaurants in your area, the USPS can work with local vendors to target your mailbox without giving the direct mailer your address. Actual mail addresses would be masked by a temporary code that represents that delivery address and can be decoded by the USPS sorters. This ensures personal privacy while also allowing a consumer to opt in to advertising that targets your interests.
